Our second annual Día De Los Muertos was a success! This event was made possible due to the efforts of many. Thank you to Sra. Roos for all of her work in creating the event and to parent volunteer coordinators, Damaris Hernandez and Kelly Hedlund. Thank you to our dozens of volunteers for helping throughout the day. Special thanks to Sr. Pinck for performing his music during the event and to local Eden Prairie restaurant, Aurelia’s, for donating proceeds to the PTO. The money donated will be used to help pay for programs like this one that help enrich our school!
We also had several teachers and staff participate as well, including Sra. Chepokas, pictured below, as well as Sr. Hegland and Sra. Sigüenza, pictured with Sra. Roos. Thank you to everyone for attending!
Here is a note from the Eden Prairie School Board:
Dear Parents and Guardians of Eden Prairie Schools:
On November 3rd residents of Eden Prairie will have the opportunity to elect four of seven School Board members to serve 4-year terms beginning January 4, 2016. We encourage you to become informed about all of the candidates so you are able to vote for School Board members who will best represent your priorities and values. If you have questions about voter eligibility, polling locations or early voting, please visit the Eden Prairie School website www.edenpr.org or contact Laurie Hemstock, Elections Coordinator, at 952-975-7072.
Over the past few years your current School Board has made it a priority to find new ways of connecting with taxpayers and residents of Eden Prairie. We have attended meetings with groups such as the Preschool and Community Ed Advisory Councils, the Senior Center, members of the Somali community, and PTOs. If you are a member of a community group that would like to invite the Board to come to one of your meetings, or if you simply have questions or comments for the Board, please email us at SchoolBoard@edenpr.org.
Thank you for your valued partnership!

EHSI is proud to host our 2nd annual event, this Saturday from 9am-1pm in the cafeteria. We will have bread, hot chocolate, music, crafts, and more! Food from local Mexican restaurant, Aurelia’s, will also be available to purchase.
What is Día De Los Muertos?
It’s a cultural event that is celebrated in many Latin American countries. On November 1 and 2, the people in many Spanish-speaking countries celebrate this event by gathering with their families and friends to honor and remember their relatives who have passed away.
Families celebrate by making delicious treats such as bread, hot chocolate, and tamales. They listen to music, dance, and tell stories to their children. The children play games and make decorations. They write short rhyming verses in honor of relatives who are no longer with them.
Take a look at the video from last year’s event above. This event is made possible by our volunteers. Click here to sign up to help!
Special thanks to Marcela Roos for organizing this wonderful cultural celebration!
We are so proud of our school for what we have accomplished this week as we showed our Eagle Pride through our KINDNESS toward others by donating socks. It really is our RESPONSIBILITY to be good, contributing citizens and to help others also be SAFE. Fresh, clean, socks will help others have warm healthy feet and stay safe!
SEGURO — AMABLE —RESPONSIBLE
We are really doing it, Eagle Heights, and we are so proud of you!
Thank you to all of our generous families for donating new, adult socks (which are the biggest need) as part of our SOCKtubre event this week. You still have two more days to donate! Sock collection ends on Friday, 10/23 (same date as Crazy Sock day for the kids). Thank you for your generosity!
Thank you to the Big Serve Group from Grace Church for donating supplies and their Saturday to paint the cafeteria and railings. What a great spruce up for the school! Your hard work is very much appreciated!
Join in on SOCKtubre! Socks will be collected the week of October 19-23 in the front entry area of Eagle Heights and will culminate the week with “Crazy Sock Day” on Friday the 23rd. Socks should be new and most preferably adult sized as that is where the majority of the need is. Thank you and your student in advance for the service to others in need!
